| AMT 1/? AT-ST: "This is my AT-ST from AMT. Let me say that this model comes very toyish and you have to make
major modifications to give it a more realistic finish. I will point out the more significant modifications I made: Cabin: First of all, I took quite a time watching the battle in the jungle of Endor, in there you will find the best shots of the AT-ST cabin interior. After this, I started working on the search for suitable part to engineer the scratchbuilt cabin. The seats were made from some Monogram Tomcat 1/48 seats. The main console was made from resin leftovers, and the rest was from other general kits bash. Armor Plates: This is basic for this model because as it is, the armor plates come fused with the entire head body, and they should appear a lot more marked, more defined; so the thing I did was add styrene plastic sheet to the big plate, and shave the little one to work on the part joint. After the union was disappeared, I added then the plate with more styrene sheet. All this gave the model a much better look. The ones I didn’t replace, but should have, were the armored plates from the upper joint in each leg, and the one protecting the targeting sensors in the left side of the head. General detailing: On this relays the most of your originality for building this kit. I covered the inside of the legs base which comes hollow; that is one of the details that gives this model the most toy-like look. I opened the view hatches, added power and control cables under cabin to the torso; replaced the main cannons with copper tubes, opened a hole to the grenade launcher and added the hand-bar around the entrance hatch, also added some handles to the hatch on both sides. I also opened the back motor exhausts in the particular hexagonal form. Painting: I used for base coat a light gray and then added a lot of post shading with a variety of gray tones. Some silver was used in the base of the feet and that was it. Hope you enjoy it!!!" Seth
